Although this site will not contain genealogies, those seeking information about early residents of Murray County eventually can find useful information here.

Historically important data, documents, and information will be available soon. More importantly, what you find at this site will be easier to use than any existing versions of the same material because this will be searchable by computer. In fact, a search engine will enable visitors to search the entire site for any subject they type in. As an advanced search option, they can extend their search to the entire World Wide Web and see the search results in just a few seconds. Try doing that with a book without an index!! Heck, try doing it even with an index!! No comparison!

Once we find volunteers who can scan them and create computer files from what is scanned, we hope to post the full text of such works as these:
